National Greening Program launched in Lobo, Batangas



The Lobo Water District (LWD) in Batangas has participated in President Noynoy Aquino administration's National Greening Program with massive tree planting activities in its 28-hectare Lobo Watershed. LWD partnered with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) through the DENR-CALABARZON and the municipal government of Lobo, Batangas. The NGP aims to plant 1.5 billion trees nationwide through the participation of the government and private sectors. The same officials led some 100 volunteers in the planting of the initial target of 7,500 seedlings at the Lobo Watershed for environmental enhancement as well assure water supply sustainability.
