US envoy leads P54-M Jolo water project launching

US Ambassador Christie Kenney share the honors with Sulu Governor Abdusakur Tan ( not in photo) in leading the groundbreaking for a P54-million water supply improvement project for the capital town of Jolo that is jointly funded by the USAID's Growth with Equity in Mindanao (USAID-GEM) and the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) with Jolo Mainland Water District (JMWD) as implementing agency. Also present during the occasion are LWUA acting Senior Deputy Administrator and JMWD interim Board Chair Daniel I. Landingin ( seated behind Kenney), other officials of the USAID-GEM and JMWD led by interim General Manager Ferdinand Marquez and former Jolo Mayor and now JMWD Director Rashdi Abubakar ( 2nd from left and left, respectively, inset photo).
