This was announced recently by Philippine Water Works Association (PWWA) president Orlando C. Hondrade who said that the event will be held on October 2-5, 2007 in the country's top tourist destination city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan with PWWA as organizer and the Puerto Princesa City Water District as host.

Invited local as well as international experts will discuss various topics such as new visions and strategies, policies and regulatory priorities, human resource development and training in the filed of water supply management and operations; water supply, sewerage and sanitation project financing; tariffs and water pricing; and strategic management of water in urban areas.

Also to be featured are discussions on operating and managing water and wastewater systems; infrastructure and asset management; water quality improvement management; environmental and health related issues; innovative water and wastewater technology; instrumentation and control; water reclamation, re-use and recycling; appropriate and non-conventional wastewater treatment systems and water loss and assessment.

Hondrade, who is also administrator of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) is the over-all organizing committee chair while Puerto Princesa City Water District board chair Antonio G. Goh is the convention chairman.

An international product exhibition showcasing the latest in water supply, sewerage and wastewater technologies will be held parallel with the conference. The PWWA has already issued invitations to prospective participants, sponsors and exhibitors from both inside the country and abroad to support the staging of this international conference and exhibition on water resources management which the Philippines has annually hosted since 1992 as its commitment to the International Water Association (IWA).
