Local
Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) Board Chairman Prospero A.
Pichay, Jr. (left photo) bared that the country needed an estimated
P450 billion to fully develop its water resources and supply systems
to include provision for filtration and treatment. He said that
to augment the government's annual budgetary appropriations for
water supply, LWUA will establish a subsidiary Water Development
Bank to help raise and source additional funding for projects especially
for the numerous small water districts. Pichay made these statements
in his speech before officials of the various Rotary Club chapters
in Pangasinan in his recent official visit to Dagupan City where
he also met with Mayor Alipio Fernandez and water district officials.
