New LWUA head vows support for water districts

Newly-assumed Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) Administrator Orlando C. Hondrade vows to intensify support for the development projects and advocacies of the country's numerous water districts even as he asks their commitment in helping expand potable water supply coverage especially in the so-called waterless communities in line with the Arroyo administration's water agenda. Hondrade made the statement in his speech during the 28th national convention of the Philippine Association of Water Districts (PAWD) that opened Wednesday at the Clark Field, Pampanga. Listening intently at right photo was the affair's main guest of honor and speaker Presidential Chief of Staff Michael T. Defensor ( 2nd from right), who vowed to
work for relief on payment of franchise tax by the country's numerous water districts to help them improve further the delivery of safe potable water service to their millions of concessionaires, and the officers of the PAWD and LWUA led by LWUA Board Chair Eduardo Bangayan, LWUA Trustee Aurora Armaez, PAWD Board chair Arturo Villasan and PAWD President Romeo Calara.
