DUQUE, PICHAY
AT NAT'L WATER DISTRICTS CONVENTION. Department of Health (DOH)
Secretary Francisco T. Duque III and Local Water Utilities Administration
(LWUA) Board Chairman Prospero A. Pichay, Jr. address water district
officials during the 30th annual national convention of the Philippine
Association of Water Districts (PAWD) in Cebu City. Sec. Duque
committed DOH support for the institution of water safety plans
to preserve the contribution of the potable water supply provision
to public health. On the other hand, Pichay vowed LWUA's sustained
financial and other development assistance for the country's numerous
water districts in assuring the people's basic right to clean
water and in advancing the legacy program of the Arroyo administration
of providing safe potable water to all barangays by 2010.
