| Hondrade to STAWD: support funds for provincial water supply | ||||||

| SUPPORT
FUNDS FOR PROV'L WATER SUPPLY. Administrator Orlando C. Hondrade of the
Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) asked the support of the water
districts to urge members of Congress to finally approve on the resumption
of session this June 4, 2007 the further amendments to Presidential Decree
198 or the LWUA_Water District Charter seeking to increase the authorized
capitalization of LWUA to P50 billion as well its authorized local at
foreign borrowing limits to sustain water supply improvement at expansion
projects in the provinces in support of the Arroyo administration's "Water
For All Barangays" program. Hondrade made the call during the monthly
meeting of the Southern Tagalog Association of Water Districts (STAWD)
at the Nawawalang Paraiso Resort in Tayabas, Quezon recently. c February 27, 2007 |
