LWUA House Bill set for 2nd reading


The House Committee on Appropriations, presided by Albay 1st District Rep. Edcel Lagman (right photo), recently approved for second reading the proposed increase in authorized capital stock of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) from P2.5 billion to P50 billion as well as its domestic and foreign borrowings at P50 billion and US $2 billion, respectively, as contained in the Committee Report of the Committee on Public Works chaired by Pangasinan 3rd District Rep. Generoso Tulagan. Listening from left are LWUA officials Manuel Yoingco, Atty. Ma. Elena Te, Deputy Administrator for Operations Emmanuel Malicdem and Acting Senior Deputy Administrator Daniel Landingin. The Committee Meeting was also attended by Zamboanga 2nd District Rep. Roseller Barinaga, Bohol 1st District Rep. Edgar Chatto, Cebu 1st District Rep. Eduardo Gullas, Bulacan 4th District Rep. Reylina Nicolas and Rizal 1st District Rep. Michael John Duavit.
