Japan-aided pilot water project turn-over

Officials of the Japanese Embassy, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) recently turned over to the local authorities the newly-completed water supply facilities which is the first to be completed of the ten pilot water supply projects that was funded by a P500 million Japanese grant under the JICA-LWUA Small Water District Improvement Project in Lobo, Batangas. With LWUA Administrator Orlando C. Hondrade and Lobo Mayor Virgilio Manalo representative Councilor Fausto Ramirez in attendance, JICA Assistant Resident Representative Takeshi Kanome, Japan Embassy Health Attache Dr. Norito Araki, and JICA Project Director Marty Mamose, formally turned over the facilities to officials and staff of the Lobo Water District (LWD) headed by Chair Margarita Nadurata and General Manager Dani M. Perez. The project will benefit an additional more than 1,000 households in the upcoming resort town.
