The Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) has approved recently a P30-million financial loan package to finance further the improvement of the Puerto Princesa City Water District's (PPCWD) water supply system.

The loan contract was signed by LWUA Acting Senior Deputy Administrator Daniel I. Landingin representing LWUA administrator Orlando C. Hondrade with Puerto Princesa City Water District general manager Antonio Jesus R. Romasanta and PPCWD Dept. Mgr. Vicente D. Abrea at LWUA office in Balara, Quezon City.

LWUA Acting Senior Deputy Administrator Landingin said the loan would be used for the installation of 2 modular-type water filtration plants to address the turbidity and color problem of raw water coming from PPCWD's existing Irawan infiltration gallery. It will also finance the rehabilitation and replacement of old and dilapidated pipelines.
