concerns

LWUA as an institution working with a natural resource as water is naturally concerned with everything that will affect said water resources. In past years the agency has entered into agreements with other government entities such as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) so their efforts towards the preservation of resources tapped in water supply would be coordinated. It has also launched independent efforts aimed at such ends, like its Project Evergreen in the mid 90s for the preservation/rehabilitation of selected Philippine watersheds.

Such concernfor the environment also influence the extra curricular activities of its employees, who band themselves to be more effective.

One such organization is the LWUA Divers Club. For several years, this organization has involved itself with the "International Coastal Cleanup Day" through its affiliation with Project AWARE, a non-profit organization of professional diving instructors worldwide.

Such involvement of the LWUA Divers Club has enabled them to graphically document the Philippines' rich underwater and coastal sceneries -- which we present in this website as free wallpapers -- and further strengthened its members' resolve to remain involved and concerned with the preservation of the environment.
